Volunteer law students at The University of Texas School of Law, in partnership with the Austin Bar Association's Veterans Advice Clinics, are hosting a free Wills Clinic for veterans on Sunday, November 1, from 12-4 p.m. at the University of Texas School of Law. Under attorney supervision, law students will provide free, limited legal services to veterans who meet intake requirements. Law students and attorneys will initially review each request for help.

By completing this survey, you are requesting assistance at the Veterans Wills Clinic. All information you provide will be handled confidentially and securely.

At the Veterans Wills Clinic, law student volunteers will prepare wills, durable powers of attorney, and advance directives that reflect each individual's wishes. The clinic aims to provide estate planning assistance to veterans who cannot afford to hire an attorney without significant hardship.

- Will: Allows an individual to decide who should receive their property or other assets, plan for any minor children or incapacitated adult children, and avoid more costly aspects of probate.

- Durable Power of Attorney: Allows an individual to name someone they trust to manage their financial affairs if they become unable to do so.

- Advance Directives: Allow an individual to name someone to make medical decisions on their behalf and to record their wishes about medical treatment if they become unable to communicate them.
